Accommodation
We encourage our guests to stay within the city of Lincoln at the following locations, these are preferred accommodation providers as they are within a short walk of campus and offer discounted rates for delegates linked to University of Lincoln Conferencing activities:

Unfortunately, due to the academic year starting within a week of the Working Group Meeting we are unable to provide on campus stays in student accommodation this time.
Travel
Lincoln is easily accessible and the University is just a 5 minute walk from the city centre Train and Bus Stations.
We have three regional airports nearby, connections to the motorway and good links via rail being situated on the east coast railway line.
By Air
If you plan on flying, consider a flight to Humberside International Airport via Amsterdam using KLM rather than flying into another UK airport to reduce your UK transfer time.
As part of the week, we are looking to provide an airport transfer from Humberside to Lincoln for any delegates travelling on Monday and Friday. This will be a pre-booked minibus leaving at around 5pm on Monday 11th September, with a return early morning on Friday 14th to suit any guests with flights from Humberside.
Our closest Airport: Humberside International Airport
Located: 30 miles northeast of Lincoln
Travel Time: 45 minutes by road.
Humberside International Airport has good connections to Aberdeen and Amsterdam (Schiphol) Airport as well as other chartered destinations.
The easiest route to Lincoln is via road. Rail travel from this airport is not advised at this time due to service times via Barnetby.
Alternatively, the following airports have good onward travel connections to Lincoln by road or rail:
East Midlands Airport
Located: 50 miles southwest of Lincoln
Travel Time: 75 minutes by road / 55 minutes by rail
East Midlands Airport has good connections to Barcelona, Belfast, Brussels and Frankfurt and many more.
The easiest route using public transport is to take a bus/taxi from the airport to Nottingham Railway Station (12 miles) and take the 55minute train to Lincoln Central Station.
Birmingham Airport
Located: 80 miles west of Lincoln
Travel Time: 105 minutes by road / 165-210 minutes by rail
Birmingham Airport has good connections to Iceland, Ireland, and the USA.
To travel to Lincoln using public transport, take the train from Birmingham International Railway Station to Birmingham New Street Station. Then take a train to Nottingham and change for a train to Lincoln Central.
Manchester Airport
Located: 92 miles west of Lincoln
Travel Time: 135 minutes by road / 165-210 minutes by rail
To travel to Lincoln using public transport, take the train from Manchester Airport Station to Manchester Piccadilly Station. Then take a train to either Sheffield or Doncaster and change for a train to Lincoln Central.
Leeds Bradford International Airport
Located: 82 miles northwest of Lincoln
Travel Time: 110 minutes by road / 165-210 minutes by rail
To travel to Lincoln using public transport, take the train from Leeds Bradford Airport to Doncaster or York Station. Then take on onward train to Lincoln Central, please note you may have an additional change at Nottingham or Newark Northgate depending on your chosen route.
Car Rental
All the airports listed have car rental available which you can book prior to your arrival in the UK. Providers vary locally, examples of some of the larger UK providers include Enterprise, Hertz and Avis. Please ensure that you check you have the right documentation needed prior to booking so that you can drive in the UK.
By Car
If driving by car, please use the postcode LN6 7DQ to locate us, we are easily accessible by road via the A46/A15 which link us to the main UK motorway network.
By Train
Please use Lincoln Central as your destination.
Travel from London to Lincoln by train in just 1 hour 55 minutes thanks to LNER Azuma trains with other operators providing direct connections to many other UK cities including Manchester and Birmingham.
