Course Description

This online course offers an introduction to the subject using data journalism techniques to report on climate change. It will focus on the key issues for journalists and those involved in communicating issues around climate change, with an emphasis on the tools for finding, analysing and visualising data, drawing upon stories that are taking place at COP27, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Egypt this year.

The course aims to strengthen your journalistic and advocacy skills and the quality of your news reporting as you learn the skills that have made Thomson Reuters one of the world's most trusted sources of news, informing professionals, policymakers, and members of the public all over the world.

The course will feature three half-day event led by Thomson Reuters Foundation trainer and University of Lincoln staff, who will provide instruction and feedback on your own reporting and writing as well as using data visualisation techniques.
