This course is run as an optional Level 3 module (for 2025/26 BIO3031) worth 15 credits and the course will run in the summer of 2025 at the end of your second year.
Only students enrolled on the following courses where this module is an option are eligible:
BSc (Hons)/MBio/SFY Biology; Zoology; Animal Behaviour and Welfare; Bioveterinary Science; Biochemistry; Biomedical Science; Ecology and Conservation.

The deadline for payment is Friday the 10th January 2025@1600hrs.

Costs
Students will be expected to cover transport costs (including flight costs). These costs will vary depending on the location of the field trip. Estimates for flights in 2025 are: Italy £100-300; Finland £250-500.
Accommodation and meals at the field sites are paid for by the University.
Students may be required to pay for overnight stays, local travel and food close to the destination if their flights arrive the day before the team are scheduled to meet. Students may bring personal items of clothing and travel equipment, some of which may be specialised for the environment they are travelling to, and recommended medicines and travel toiletries such as anti-malaria medication, vaccinations, insect repellent and sunscreen. These costs will depend on what you choose to bring.
 
All locations are subject to a minimum number of students attending.

Students who withdraw from the module after 10th January 2025 will not be eligible for a refund of their payment unless they provide adequate evidence of extenuating circumstances. 

Students who attend the field courses will have to take BIO3031 as one of their third year options.
